WTVF Election 90 Special Report Open
Description:
It's August 1990 and there was a local election held in Tennessee. Having recently unveiled new graphics (which actually brought back the old "5" logo they used prior to the Friends You Can Turn To days) WTVF NewsChannel5 Nashville brings us special coverage of the election returns immediately following the 6:30 report. Chris Clark and Vicky Yates open the broadcast; political analyst Pat Nolan and 6:30 Anchor Bud Hedinger bring us analysis later in the broadcast. Interesting to note here that they used one of the short news opens from the Palmer News Package. In later months (as early as November of 1990) WTVF opened their election coverage broadcasts with the Palmer News Package's "Election Open" which was a rather patriotic sounding variation of the Palmer open we were used to hearing. Also featured at the top of the clip is a promo for Entertainment Tonight with John Tesh. copyrights are acknowledged; this video is posted for educational/historical purposes only.
