This Africa study abroad program embodies Azusa Pacific's focus on Christian leadership. The South Africa Semester program offers the opportunity to learn about the rich culture and society of South Africa, receive theoretical and practical training on community building and inter-cultural ministry, conduct service and research projects in local communities, and develop relationships with South African students, academics, and community members.

Belmont University in Africa 2007
Dr. Darrell Gwaltney, Dean of Belmont University's School of Religion, outines the studies abroad program in South Africa. Twenty Belmont University students and three faculty members traveled to South Africa and Botswana to work and study. Students could complete 6 semester hours by choosing two of three courses offered during the trip plus some additional post-trip reflection.
