The Hope Alliance Orphanage Needs Your Help

On Sunday May 25th, 2008 I had the opportunity to visit The Hope Alliance Orphanage located in New Haven, Connecticut. Surrounded by Peace, Calm, Serenity, and Pure Love, this is home for more than 20 special needs cats. Founded in 1992 by Lisa Mary Ruoppolo, this sanctuary is a little piece of heaven here on earth. Lisa has dedicated her life to caring for these special needs cats that would otherwise be euthanized by other organizations due to lack of resources. Staffed entirely by volunteers, the orphans live in a clean and healthy environment where they are able to roam freely. At The Hope Alliance they are treated with Compassion and Respect. They are truly loved and accepted just the way they are. Some have physical needs, some emotional, others both. Meet Payton. Born without back legs, he arrived at the Safe Haven three weeks ago. In addition to caring for special needs cats, they are still able to take in a limited number of cats who are healthy but have been abandoned on the streets. The Hope Alliance practices a "no kill" policy. If they cannot be adopted, they will reside at the Orphanage indefinitely. Each Hope Alliance cat receives veterinary care from Dr.Efren Osorio and his wonderful staff located in North Branford,Connecticut. Please consider making a donation to this magical place.
