Bulk and Skull 4

Title:
Bulk and Skull 4

Description:
The Bulk and Skull Go Flying episode is a good one. Bulk and Skull engage in one of their zen philosophical pasttimes of watching planes land, pondering the differing perspectives upon communication. Skull shows off his optimistic nature by taking his principal's criticism in a positive light. As we see, Uncle Steve enjoys a nice cold one before he takes off. The way he reacts to Bulk and Skull is uplifting. Not everyone is as mean-spirited to them as the Power Rangers. Next we perceive the innocent, curious natures of Bulk and Skull as they for the first time experience the whimsy of flight. They are in tune with the experience, and also show us that they are able to rationalize their fears, as Bulk clarifies that he is not afraid of flying, he is afraid of "crashing". Note how scarce the cars parked at the Youth Center are. When Uncle Steve (how many Steves exist, by the way?) professes his dizziness, Bulk and Skull establish that knowledge can be a very painful thing. They try to overcome their fears to further assess their situation in a calm manner. Having a clear head is important in a crisis. They then determine that due to the fact that pain is an experiential phenomenon, and that Uncle Steve is (supposedly) a licensed pilot, that they should follow Uncle Steve's lead into the realm of the subconcious. Perhaps like Twin Peaks character Dale Cooper (any relation to Sly Cooper?) they will attain higher knowledge. Who is "Gordon"? Bert I. Gordon? Sounds appropriate. Maybe Amy Jo Johnson would be better off calling "Cherokee Jack". Or better yet, call her flying Pterodactyl Zord in or whatever. For those of us who know better, we don't actually expect answers to these sorts of questions. In case you hadn't noticed, the Power Rangers series is subject to the most plot holes per capita than any other production. Example: Rita can sneak into the Power Rangers' rooms at night, but never does so to kill them in their sleep. You quickly get used to this sort of thing as you get older. Also, I didn't show the clip here, but the Power Rangers fight around some Moai statues. My fondest memories of my education include one time in fifth grade when my entire class, including the teacher, maintained that "Easter Isle" didn't exist. Ah, American education. On a scale from Jar Jar Binks to Dobby on annoying inhuman characters (Jar Jar being the least annoying, with Dobby being just slightly more annoying than Gollum), Alpha is just slightly behind Johnny Five, though still far above E.T. and Station. I wonder how Uncle Steve must feel to have been nonfunctional while his neice and others were in danger, and then to have his neice just run off like that. It's okay, Uncle Steve. We still believe in you. Things conclude with another slapstick shot of Bulk and Skull once again being the brunt of some messy joke, just for having walked into a room. The scene where Bulk is playing arcade games gives us a clear example of his "condom hat". They quickly are taught the repercussions of extortion. Is anyone able to identify which game Bulk and Skull were playing? Even the head-on shots of the arcade machine don't give a very good view of the machine's marquee. I included the clip of Ernie taking the jar of Invisibility Potion without know what it is just to warn you not to eat at the Youth Center. Why would you want to make something invisible anyway? If you make a cactus invisible for example, you're only going to increase the chances that you'll injure yourself. Yet Uncle Howard gulps it down without worrying about growing a third arm or what have you, all for the sake of further extrapolating his authoritative strong-arming will upon Bulk and Skull.
