PNWR Harbor Turn Chase - Part 2 [Vadis (Dersham Rd.)] On a very nice Saturday morning of May 16th, the Harbor Turn takes off from Tigard onroute to Harbor in Linnton, Oregon. The Harbor had PNWR 2314 (GP39-2), PNWR 2303 (GP39-2), and PNWR 2306 (GP39-2) that day and I decided to chase this train on it's adventure. This was my first actual chase of a frieght train and I had over 70 minutes captured to edit. Since I can't post one, 70 minute video, I'm splitting my chase up into about five parts. In part two, I catch the Harbor traveling a speedy 10 miles per hour in Vadis, on the United Railway District, on it's way to Harbor in Linnton from Banks, where they have turned the train east to face the right direction. Westsider SD9s
August 8, 2007: AE3859 and I caught Portland & Western's Westsider in Albany, Oregon. We expected it to have the SDP40F and GP39-2 but weren't expecting the two sd9s. To our surprise, the vintage locos stayed on the train and wound up leading on the train's return to mcminnville. 4433 was under Lavacot Locomotive Works ownership at the time, it has since become P&W 1854. The buzzing sound that appears in various parts of the clip is coming from the sdp40f's electrical system. LOCATIONS ...
NS 18K (6-12-07) So slow!!!!
NS 301 has cleared in the siding at Karnes by conductor J. Wright. NS 18K is making a slow pull do to how long his train is. He went through town very slowly but kept the pace he was at, some pace! LOL! NS 18K will go to Midway to meet NS 431 southbound.
