My passage from Paris to London via Euro Tunnel
Description:
The 50 KM long Euro Tunnel(37KMs under the sea)is laid at an average depth of 150 ft below the sea bed of the English Channel connecting Folkstone,kent in the UK and Conquelles in Northern France. The Euro Tunnel is being used by High Speed Euro star trains and freight trains.The travel time across the tunnel is around 35 mts.The Euro Tunnel has 3 Tunnels - two rail Tunnels and one service Tunnel.Our bus or car is driven into the train-coach and when the train is in motion we can come out of our vehicle and walk and watch.Remember though we are crossing the sea not one drop of water can be seen.This was a bad disappointment for me.Can see only the walls of the tunnel.Of course with my 40 years of service in the Indian Railway system, I should say without any reservation that it is an Engineering Marvel,every one must see.Please do not miss this experience.
