KWVR 'Summer Steam Gala' - Saturday 27.06.09
My first visit to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway was on Saturday 27th June 2009, during the line's first 'Summer Steam Gala' which has been created because the 2008 '40th Anniversary Gala' was in June and proved to be a great hit. The gala had 9 steam locomotives in action, seven from the resident fleet and then a futher two hired in. These were Chris Beet's LMS 5XP 'Jubilee' Class number 5690 'Leander' (who worked mainline shuttles to Settle only) and the nrms LNER Robinson '04' (GCR ...

Well, I got to the Worth valley 20mins behind schedule as my train from Leeds was late, so I decided to go on the mainline shuttle and I am extremely glad I had, it was possibly my best steam experience yet!!! Unfortunately, I could window hang all the time due to me not having any eye-protection and it hurts bad enough at 30mph so I did want to experience the feel at 60mph!!!

Part 2 of the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway Summer Steam gala which I attended on Friday 26th June.The engineers freight is seen again in this vid hauled by 04 No 63601 and banked by 'Jinty' No 47279. Locations include Myholmes viaduct, Oxenhope, Damens loop and Keighley station. Some shots were also taken on Keighley bank. 60163 Tornado on the 'Torbay Express' - 05/07/09
Dispite Past-Time Rail going under, a new company 'Torbay Express Ltd' was made in order to operate this years Torbay Express excursions. The tour running every sunday until mid/late september, the first few weeks are taken by the newest mainline locomotive, Peppercorn A1 60163 'Tornado', until mid august when 6024 'King Edward I' is supposed to take over the duties. For this video I made my way down to Bedminster station to see the first of the tours.
