Horse Rescue Part 1 Stoney Creek, TN
Part 1 - June 18, 2009 at a Civil War Reenactment called "Battle of Brooks Farm" on Blue Springs Road in Stoney Creek above Elizabethton, TN a horse became stuck in the mud along a creekbed. The horse struggled for over 1 1/2 hours. With the help of a large number of men using hoists and ropes, the horse "Dusty" was freed. "Dusty" luckily escaped unharmed except for a few abrasions. Buttercup - Abandoned, Neglected, and Starving - Now Recovering at Equine Outreach Horse Rescue
Buttercup was rescued Jan 29, 2009. She is estimated 700lbs underweight with a body score of 1. She was found in someone's garage eating bird seed and dog food. She was transferred from there to Equine Outreach horse rescue in Bend, OR. The trip exhausted her and she went down in the middle of the night. Her leg froze in the cold and she couldn't stand. Horse rescue-she survived
15 Year old horse slid down a mudslide in 1998, and was stuck in a fallen tree, just above a swift running creek, was removed by the fire department, only to fall into that creek, and then, be saved once again by the same rescuers, who saved this animal before. This horse did live, and was an inspiration to many school children, long after her ordeal.

Orono Apartments Fire
A fire destroyed an 18-unit apartment building in Orono, Maine. Firefighters were able to rescue a golden retriever who had been trapped inside for almost three hours.
