On Oct.6, 2008, Pam and Ann began a 21day trek to Mt Everest Base Camp in Nepal. On Oct. 20, they reached Base Camp at an altitude of 17600 ft. Tradition dictates that as the flags deteriorate, the prayers go into the winds to bring health and happiness to those named.

150 metres past the sign that says 'Qomolangma Base Camp' we came across Tiger Dome, the real base camp for real mountaineers. We had been gasping and panting for 6 km to get here. Altitude: 5200m, ~17000ft. The wind was howling outside. Once we entered, it was surreal. Dead silent. There were three mountaineers in a plexiglass dome. 1938 High Camp Discovery on Mount Everest
Jake Norton discovers the 1938 high camp on the Northeast Shoulder of Mount Everest in 2004. The camp, located in possibly the windiest spot on Everest, was all but abandoned in 1938 and left in the elements for 66 years. All that Jake discovered was a tent pole, some old cans, bits of tent material, and some pitons and other items. Jake also takes viewers on a tour of the Northeast Shoulder of Everest, showing where Boardman & Tasker disappeared in 1982 and the possible ascent route taken ...
