June 3rd 2008 Tornado Waldron, Shelby County, Indiana
Description:
This is the tornado that struck Waldron on June 3rd 2008 around 8PM. We cut through the storm front before the tornado formed and stopped in a driveway about a mile south of the tornado's path to film. It touched down about half a mile east of my Mom's house near CR500E and continued eastward through the north edge of the town of Waldron hitting several homes and barns. It's really spooky to be able to see and hear a tornado from the distance we were able too. Less than a mile away from what I figured. I do have to say, no, it did not sound like a train. I want to say thanks to the folks who let us stop and take shelter in their house. Gavyn had fun playing with their two girls and excited lab. I also want to add that, again, I'm sorry for accidentally kicking your cat as we all hurried inside. I don't think she was hurt by any means.
