Toronto Travel: Riding in Toronto Harbour

Description:
This clip was taken during my biking tour to Cherry Beach on September 6. I headed off from the east end after work through the Don Valley bike trail and past the eastern edge of the Distillery District to Toronto's harbour area. I went on Cherry Street past the Cirque de Soleil premises to Cherry Beach where a movie shot was taking place. I arrived as the crew was just filming a particular scene with a trailer when a small explosion went off and tons of smoke was billowing from the trailer. It must have been some sort of thriller, cop or action movie. Then I checked out the western edge of Cherry Beach with a peak over to the Toronto Islands and then continued cycling eastwards from Cherry Beach at the edge of the industrial area that is adjacent to the Leslie Street spit. I watched some dragonboat racers and continued onwards to Toronto's Eastern Beaches and explored the little peninsula at the foot of Coxwell Avenue, next to Ashbridges Bay. When I was done I watched some tennis at the Kew Gardens Tennis Club. It was a great little ride, about 33 km right after work. I'm trying to take advantage of the last few weeks of extended daylight hours before we head into the darkness of winter... Toronto Discoveries - Ride through Riverside neighbourhood
Thefact that it's already late October (Oct 28) didn't deter me from another bike ride. So at about 10:30 am this morning I linked up with my friend Randy at the Taylor Park Bridge in the Don Valley. We cycled down on the west side of the River on a packed dirt trail that is quite reminiscent of a roller coaster, with all its exhilarating curves and turns. Just south of the Leaside Bridge we arrived at the makeshift dirt riding park that has been created in the middle of the woods by a group ...

Toronto Travel Discoveries: At the edge of the Scarborough Bluffs
This video clip was taken during my bike ride to the Scarborough Bluffs. I actually decided to ride eastwards because from 2 pm yesterday there was a huge 5-alarm fire raging very close to our place. A car wrecking company with dozens of car-casses went up in flames and a huge cloud of black smoke started covering the city and drifted northwestwards. According to the news it was a tire fire which released a plume of toxic fumes. Apparently, even this morning the fire was still smouldering ...

Ontario Travel: Main Street in Owen Sound
Thisclip was taken during my little weekend escape to Owen Sound. My good friend Yolande and I hopped into the car early Saturday morning and took a nice country drive up to Georgian Bay. We drove through Collingwood, Craigleith and Thornbury before we made a stop in the historic town Meaford which has a nice waterfront and a decent main street with Victorian townhouses dating back to the 1880s. We continued our adventure to Owen Sound which is a beautiful town located right where the ...
