Another in the Boomer and Melinda Vacation series. In this one, they trailer their boat and take a ferry to the sunshine coast in British Columbia. Then it's about a 1 hour drive to Egmont where they launched their boat and stayed overnight. After a restful night in the A-Frame cabin on the ocean, they headed off in the boat north up the Jervis Inlet. After about 2 hours they reached the small opening on the east side. It looked like the mouth of a small river. As you got really close, it opened up. It is the Malibu Rapids. About a 7-10 knot rapid must be passed to gain entry into beautiful Princess Louisa Inlet. There is much interesting history to this one of a kind place on earth. The inlet itself is sheltered, protected salt water and is 7 km long. It is 1/2 mile wide and 1000 feet deep, this magnificent granite-walled gorge has snow-tipped mountains that rise sharply from the water's edge to heights in excess of 7000 feet!! It truly is one of this planets secret gems. Boat access only. No roads for miles.
