We were lucky compared to the surrounding areas in Kansas. Just a few miles north or south of us & parts of the towns were under water. This is the old hiway between Chanute & Humboldt.

Chum Salmon Swims Across Highway 101
The Skokomish river floods every year thanks to all the logging. 90% of the water shed has been logged. A lot of these salmon get stranded when the water receeds. Simpson akd Green Diamond, cut down most of the tree in the Skok watershed under the "100 year sustained yield" contract. But they did it in just 40 years time and then cancelled the contract and laid off all the workers.
This Old Highway
...is getting a lot longer! Rolling up the delmarva on Rt. 13 in the rain listening to Garth Brooks on Froggy 99. I made this because I like the song, not because I liked the weather.

South of Humboldt Kansas. In 30 years we've been here, neither of the houses had ever been under water before.

This is at the west edge of Humboldt KS. The water has already receded, hopefully it will continue doing that.
