Photo Montage of Rickert & Ringholz Neil Gow Kit
Photos from various angles of our new replica of a pochette (aka kit fiddle), made c. 1780 in Glasgow, Scotland. The type most likely used by Neil Gow, the father of what we now know as Scottish Highland fiddling...also Thomas Jefferson had one. To hear it expertly played in the proper baroque technique (tucked in the armpit), go to www.youtube.com (thanks Justin!). Made by Rickert & Ringholz www.fiddleandbowstore.com

Demo of Carleen Pochette prototype
This fiddle has all sorts of proprietary internal porting and only one sound hole. The soundpost is adjusted through a 'trap door' on the back. It is primarily an R&D project and many aspects will become part of the new Backpacker fiddle. The 'Carleen' is a tribute to Dr. Carleen Hutchins, whose research yielded many discoveries related to porting stringed instruments.
