Kings Lynns' Juggling Jim - The Early Years (4 of 5)
Description:
Watch in high quality (if link not showing below, change Video Playback Quality in My Account). Juggling Jim in 1999 and 2000. Not for rebroadcast without licence. For years he played a one string guitar, juggled and occasionally had fights with invisible people near the Natwest cash machines and Spar in Hunstanton, then in the past 2 years frequented Kings Lynn town centre. There are many internet rumours about how he ended up this way. The latest is he was a very wealthy local businessman who invested a lot of money into the flopped Al Pacino movie Revolution that was filmed in Kings Lynn (really did happen). Someone says his wife died and he went mad. Another said that he is actually foreign, his family died in an house fire and was the only survivor, and he inherited all the money. One person says he lives in Hillington Square (a bad area), and another that he really lives in a mansion in Gayton. However when he was in Hunstanton I saw him sleep rough at the bus station several times, and before that seemed to be sleeping in a shed/outhouse at the flat it appeared he had been evicted from (think they were rebuilt or something). So if he is wealthy like a lot of people say it doesn't make sense. Also used to see him use his busking money to buy Echo Bars from the Spar, and sometimes eat at a pub, etc. Many years ago I think there was about 3 similar looking people doing the same act in Hunstanton. And used to see a younger man roaming the streets with a guitar talk to him as if they were close - might have been his son. Weren't stalking him, just noticed these thing's as he's intriguing, but would be nice to know his real name and a little more about him. Someone claims to have spoken to him and said his name is Anthony and is a writer. Others have referred to him as Pedro, Mad Bugger and Hula Hoop Man. If you ask him owt when you give him money he looks lost and never replies. They should do a story about him on Anglia and Lynn News. Other internet rumors are that he was a business man who was made redundant then went mad. He once had a tent on the Hardwick Roundabout. And there is a bounty on his head waiting to be collected! And he currently eats at the Dukes Head. Since writing this last year we now know his name is Tony Bowen and has a unofficial group with a massive 2,684 fans on Facebook including pictures and 420+ comments. See him in Kings Lynn? Give generously.
