Despite my not wanting to do another Doppelganger video, I figured he would be the perfect demonstration of a mage class' power once they're granted the Skill Trigger, especially if I gave him dual guns and forced myself to fight it out. Since dual guns and Other Self would call for the use of HP/SP draining ailments, which would require speed, I chose Yata. Yes, he can't heal well (like a Cleric) or attack with Lv. 2 spells (Warlock), but Yata does have one important advantage: Dual Sword-like weapons. Staves and grimoires are slow to connect initially, but fans start out hitting in short order like the Twin Blade class. This speed upgrade is key if you have to get up close with any physical class. Dancers may be short on P-ATK, but ailments and elemental Attacks work well enough with them and that's what really matters. Equipment used: Poison Jasper+5 (Venomous Attack, Voodoo Attack) Defense Comet+5 (Auto-Guard, Physical -25) Rapid Super Belt (Super Charge) Status used prior to the fight include Ap Do, Rig Saem and Rig Geam. Restrictions: No Paralysis or Charm, no Awakenings. Strategy: If you saw the Solo fight that's up on the channel elsewhere (the one with Haseo obviously), a large chunk of that video was spent beating down False Existence just to start doing damage, after which pure power had to be used to get through Doppel's regeneration. Yata can't do that; SP restrictions and having to deal with the dual guns make going for nothing but power incredibly difficult if not impossible. That, and once you get through Doppel's SP, a single hit can spell the end of the entire fight. The strategy to avoid his traps is two-fold: 1. Let Venom and Voodoo cripple False Existence and cut through the regeneration. 2. Make Auto-Guard handle defense, granting more opportunities to apply ailments. First, Other Self must lose its greatest advantage. Once Venom and Voodoo are both applied, I sit back to conserve SP. The combo of those two ailments, since Poison can't ignore Damage Change in any form, eat Doppel's SP like acid. With Doppel's defense as low as it will go, the attack begins, bombarding Doppelganger with cuts, infections, rocks, and dark energy until he falls. This won't work without speed and preemptive striking. The latter only makes sense when you take into account Doppel's programmed instincts; he won't fire unless he's close enough for melee combat. This habit enlarges the openings in Doppelganger's assault, giving Yata enough time to get at least one slice in. These small slices ensure the endurance of Venom and Voodoo along with the current combo, and with Zan Rom and Gan Bolg creates the opportunity for Rengeki. Defense is handled purely by equipment. The combination of guarding and alchemy lowers most damage below 25, allowing the Iron Shell to null a great deal of damage inflicted. Auto-Guard is the centerpiece of the entire attack; its ability to cancel out of regular attacks is on par with the Skill Trigger, giving Yata more chances to reinfect Doppel with Venom and Voodoo than would otherwise be possible. Ratings allowed, but only because the cheats used make using Yata (at all and at his best) possible and nothing more. The hacks involved give Yata no more advantage than he would theoretically have otherwise... even if the fight shouldn't be possible as-is since this is Haseo's Doppelganger, not Yata's. :P EDIT: I forgot to explain the form change code's purpose. Normally in 3rd or Xth form, if you change your character, you can't change equipment without freezing the game due to incompatibility with the expanded menu. Going back to 1st or 2nd form changes the expanded menu back to normal so you don't experience this problem.
