Title:
LAYLA'S Nashville Tribute to HANK WILLIAMS Sr Sarah McMurray
Description:
http://myspace.com/VolunteerStringBand On March 29th, 2008, The Country Music Hall Of Fame and Museum, located downtown here in Nashville, opened an exhibit to honor Hank William's Sr and the entire Williams Family Tradition; Hank Jr with daughters Holly & Hillary were featured in this past Sunday's Nashville Tennessean lead article front page. During the opening festivities Saturday, there were a substantial number of protestors with large signs across the street from the Hall Of Fame...They were there because Hank Williams Sr. was fired from the Grand Ole Opry for missing shows in 1952 just months before his untimely death in 1953. Hank Sr. was never reinstated and the demonstrators were there to remind people. We all saw Hank Sr. going into Layla's Bluegrass Inn to watch Travis Stinson's Volunteer String Band with special guest volunteer - Sarah McMurray. Hank Sr appears in this video going into Layla's. The lady he was with said he wanted a drink and the gentleman you'll see witnessing the event happend to be from Australia,,,from "down under". Sarah McMurray lead vocals & Fiddle, Josh McMurray (Sarah's husband) 1933 Gibson banjo, Paul Kramer mandolin, Brian Zonn (The Z MAN) upright bass, Travis Stinson guitar backing vocals. Someday, maybe the CMA and Grand Ole Opry people will let Hank Sr be a member again. They virtually left Hank III out of the exhibit also. Apologies to band and you all for not leveling the volume properly please adjust accordingly.
