So my wife was finally learning how to drive. One night she got mad at me and decided to go on a midnight drive to Warrensburg. She got some good practice in and I got this westbound coal train. By the way, she passed the test the next day.

I was out storm chasing this day. The storm turned out to be nothing, but I headed up to a great vantage point to the northeast of town where the Union Pacific crosses a levee. I call it levee junction, though it's not really a junction. You can see and hear the rain on the car if you look close. It's just another one of those fine atmospheric days when the train whistle get's in your blood.

Railfanning in Lawrence, Kansas
Lawrence, Kansas 4/20/05 I went railfanning at three places on this day. I started on the east end at a place I call Levee Junction, then I got one at "Don Ball Curve" and last at a place I call Pines Junction.
