SC Jazz Festival Lady Di and Company
The Town of Cheraw, South Carolina celebrates the birthday of Dizzy Gillespie by honoring him with the SC Jazz Festival the weekend nearest his birthday. This year Lady Di and Company, a popular group from Florence, SC performed on main stage and this is a portion of that performance. SC Jazz Festival - One Leg Up 's Performance
The SC Jazz Festival is only three years old, but it is growing quickly. Cheraw is the birthplace of Dizzy Gillespie and the logical place for a Jazz Festival. One of the groups presented this year was 'One Leg Up' from Asheville, NC. This group was unique and called their music gypsy jazz. It was somewhat of a combination of bluegrass and jazz and very well performed.
SC Jazz Festival - Carl Sinkler - Saxophonist
Cheraw, SC is the birthplace of Dizzy Gillespie and where the SC Jazz Festival is held annually. Carl Sinkler of Bennetsville, SC was one of the performers at the festival. Here is Carl with some Jazz saxophone solos.

The SC Jazz Festival showcases many fine musical talents. The festival is held in Cheraw, birthplace of Dizzy Gillespie. Javier Vega's Soft Jazz Quartet from Myrtle Beach is one of the very best on the program and we brought this video to show you.
