 | Overground part1 The Overground. Anti Fascist, Anti Fashion, Anarcho-Syndicalist Skateboard Park; ran from 2002 to 2005 in a squatted factory building in the north of Amsterdam. Good times were had, rain was avoided, and the people who ran it learned lessons on how idealistic methods of running initiatives is not always easy. At its best it served as a shining example of what a group of people can achieve without help from government or corporate sponsorship. At its worst we just skated, had fun, and caught flack from dreadlocked layabouts who couldn't organize a shower for themselves but were more than happy to tell the rest of the world how to live. So all in all a great success. The Video was made by English skateboarding legend Jimmy Boyce and Anth at A Working Progress Studio. If you like it there is also a Part 2. |
