Heel and arch pain is commonly caused by a condition called plantar fasciitis which is essentially an inflammation of the tissue that runs from your heel to your toes. Neuroma (in the foot called Morton's neuroma) is a thickening of nerve tissue in various parts of the body. Morton's neuroma typically occurs at the base of the third and fourth toes, but may also occur in other locations in the foot as well. A neuroma is a swelling in the nerve usually as the result of over compression and irritation. If left untreated, this can lead to nerve damage. Diabetic Foot Treatment.
