Le Poulet Frit

Title:
Le Poulet Frit

Description:
This is a video Frank and I (Lewis) had to make for our French project. A few facts about the movie: -The video and audio quality is quite low since the movie was filmed on a standard digital camera, not a camcorder. For this reason, it's pretty hard to tell what's going on and what's being said, but I'm sure you can figure it out just fine. Also, we're speaking French quite quickly, adding yet again to the lack of clarity. -All of the filming and editing was done no earlier than four days before the project was due. Yes, we are the masters of procrastination. -Since there was so much background noise when we filmed, a portion of the audio was recorded and dubbed in after the fact. When we filmed the final tennis court sequence, there was actually a group of people playing hockey on one side of the court. We didn't have time to film the scene later, so we just restricted our shots to a single direction to keep them out of the picture. Most of the audio was dubbed in later, since the originally filmed audio was littered with yelling and hockey sticks slapping the ground. -The opening scene where the ninja was robbing the casino involved a shot were he was dodging a bullet by jumping over it. The bullet was created in a 3D editing program called Blender, and was then chroma-keyed to the shot of the ninja split-jumping. -The soundtrack includes music from an open movie (coincidentally created entirely in Blender) called Elephants Dream, from the movie A Beautiful Mind, from the video game Metroid Prime, and from the movie SWAT. We tried to stay away from music everyone already knew, so it wouldn't take away from the film. -The programs used to create the film were: VirtualDub (video editing), Nero Vision (Compiling all the shots into a finished film), Nero Burning ROM (CD and DVD burning), Blender (3D animation of bullet), and Audacity (Audio editing and dubbing). Hope you enjoy our video!

The Ninja Saga Episode 2 (Part 1 of 2)
Make sure you watch part 2 of "The Ninja Saga Episode 2" after watching this video! This is the first part of a video, creatively titled "The Ninja Saga Episode 2" by Frank Tsai Ian Hu, and Lewis Nicolle. We had to make the video for our French 12 class, and it had to be on the topic of "L'Amour" or love. As you can probably tell, we sort of strayed from the topic a bit. For those of you who haven't seen our first video, feel free to check it out. It's called "Le Poulet Frit" and it should be located in the "Related Videos" section. Ian Hu was not in our first production. For numerous reasons, the video may be difficult to understand. Some reasons might be: -Although the audio quality is fairly good, the video quality of our film is somewhat poor. This is mostly because my camcorder records its files in a weird propriety format, because I'm using a trial version of Adobe Premiere Pro (which doesn't support importing and exporting mpeg files) and YouTube (which over-compresses all its videos ). By the way, it's not the case already, make sure that "&fmt=6" (obviously without the quotes) has been added to the end the URL. This will override some of YouTube's compression, and will increase the video quality a bit. This works not only for this video, but for numerous others as well. -The movie is in French, and quite rapid French at some points. And quite poorly-pronounced French at other points. This makes it quite difficult for people who aren't proficient at French to understand the video. We plan on getting the video subtitled some time in the near future to help ease this confusion. Stay tuned for that. -Finally, our film making skills aren't the best. This is only the second movie we've ever filmed, and our directing, acting, and editing techniques can use a lot of work. Anyways, I hope you enjoy our video: "The Ninja Saga Episode 2 (Part 1 of 2)!
