![]() | Brandt's Cormorant diving for fish While SCUBA diving at Pelican Rocks off of Cabo San Lucas, a Brandt's Cormorant (Phalacrocorax penicillatus) repeatedly returned to the same area to catch fish. I waited for it to return and was lucky enough to film it catching a coral hawkfish (in slow motion). I was at around 15 meters deep, but cormorants have been recorded to at least 45 meters. While not being the most graceful fliers, they are fantastic underwater and right at home patrolling the reef for a meal. |
