Bob Hope Christmas Show 1965 Ubon Thailand

Title:
Bob Hope Christmas Show 1965 Ubon Thailand

Description:
We recorded this audio tape to play over the base radio station for the troops who could not attend the show. After about 35 years, I decided to see if I could locate Chuck Anger. This tape has been a great vehicle to rekindle a friendship that started 42 years ago. I dedicate this production to all the men and women in uniform then and now. Bob Hope was a great friend to our folks in uniform, but he could not have done the job without the unselfish support of many, many stars and acts. Bob & Company -- Thanks for the memories. THE BOB HOPE LEGACY Bob R. Morton December 4, 2007 Dear Mr. Morton, On behalf of the Hope family I want to extend my gratitude to you and Mr. Chuck Anger for generously sharing with us your interviews with Mr. Hope and the other members of his troupe when they visited your base in Vietnam. It was wonderful to hear them speaking privately to soldiers as opposed to NBC microphones. I can hear a difference. Thanks again for accommodating our request for a copy. Best regards,

Cam Ranh Bay: Bob Hope Christmas Show 1968 Pt 1
Bob Hope began entertaining troops in May, 1941 when Bob, with a group of performers, went to March Field, California, to do a radio show for airmen stationed there. He would continue that tradition through peacetime and wartime for another 60 years. On December 22 1968 Bob's "Operation Holly" performed at Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam. This video records that event. The original film was silent, so the audio from his performance at Long Binh Army Depot that same Christmas is dubbed onto the video ...

Bob Hope - Thanks For The Lucky Strikes
Bob and The Sportsmen Quartet do a rendition of 'Thanks For The Memory' advertising Lucky Strikes, but with a few digs at Jack's notorious stingyness, and a mention of Jello thrown in. Oh they sure knew how to advertise! :) I do not claim to own the copyright of this radio clip, I just uploaded it to share the old time radio love. :)
