On Thursday, February 12, 2009 the Chubbuck Pocatello Hockey Association hosted its First Exhibition Ice Hockey Game under the lights of the outdoor natural ice surface located at Capell Park, in the City of Chubbuck, Idaho. The Chubbuck Nighthawks Youth Division played host to the Idaho Falls Squirt Division B travel team. The crowd of around 60 players and spectators braved the twenty degree temperatures to take in the action. Chubbuck Mayor Steve England dropped the inaugural puck to begin the first of what is hoped are many games to come. A roaring fire pit was used by the fans to keep the chill away and the kids even roasted a few marshmallows. The game was fun for all and competitive as well. The visiting Idaho Falls team consisted of 9 and10 year old players, while the Chubbuck Nighthawks players range in age from 8-12.
