The Enterprise of Brockton, Mass. www.enterprisenews.com For an hour on Tuesday, Brockton High School fell silent as more than 4,000 students and teachers watched the inauguration of the nations first African-American president. In the auditorium, Zeyanna Defortunato, 18, saw part of the ceremony with hundreds of seniors as video streamed on a wide screen. It gives us all the strength to go on. Anything is possible, she said. In a second-floor art room, Scheleda Grimes, 17, teared up as she and other students gathered around a television. I want to cry right now. ... It is something that is serious and it means a lot to all of us, Grimes said. In a computer classroom, Kimberny Henry, 16, sat watching streaming video of President Barack Obamas inaugural speech in a computer classroom. I witnessed history right here: the first African-American president. All of the stuff that Martin Luther King said, all that kind of stuff, it finally came true, Henry said.
