Herd - Paradise Lost 1968 In the deepest dungeons of my mind I dredge the shadows, try to find A memory dimly lit, a jigsaw piece to fit Scene of my innocence departed - aah Once I could love without desire Her glance could warm me without fire Where is the boy I was, who wanted her because She took my loneliness and healed me (Instrumental) Experience has dulled my eyes With repetition wonder dies In craving to be free, I lost a part of me She was my promise and my dream - aah (Instrumental)

Cupids Inspiration - Yesterday has gone 1968
Cupids Inspiration - Yesterday has gone 1968 (# 4 in UK 1968) 'It's amazing what you can do with one hit: Smash hit Yesterday Has Gone provided Leamington four-piece Cupid's Inspiration with the platform for a music career spanning three decades. The pop/rock song climbed to number four in the charts back in 1968 and remains their most well known tune. But strangely, the hit stormed the top ten before any of the Leamington crew had joined the band. Lead singer Martin Cure replaced original front man Terry Rice-Milton two years later, recruited Leamington musicians and returned home from London in 1974. Cure, who now lives in Sydenham and hires out PA systems, said: "We managed to carve a living out of Yesterday Has Gone without recording it or ever achieving the same success again. It's amazing what you can do with one hit and it still gets played on the radio." Cupid's Inspiration, whose line-up is completed by guitarist Jim Batty, drummer Paul Brook and bassist Keith Hancock, continued to tour until 2002, supporting the likes of The Searchers on 1960s package shows. Lyrics: Hey, baby, yesterday has just departed And tomorrow hasn't started All that really matters is right now And you should live a lifetime in each minute Take the sweetness home within it Yesterday has gone without a sound Come on baby let the good times roll Time is wasting and we'll soon be old Just give in to what you feel inside Give your life a chance to open wide Hey, baby, yesterday has just departed And tomorrow hasn't started All what really matters is right now And you should live a lifetime in each minute Take the sweetness home within it Yesterday has gone without a sound What's the good of living in the past Look around your things are changin' fast Don't concern yourself with what's ahead It's too late to live when you are dead Hey, baby, yesterday has just departed And tomorrow hasn't started All what really matters is right now And you should live a lifetime in each minute Take the sweetness home within it Yesterday has gone without a sound Hey, baby, yesterday

Procol Harum - A whiter shade of pale 1967
We skipped the light fandango Turned cartwheels cross the floor I was feeling kinda seasick But the crowd called out for more The room was humming harder As the ceiling flew away When we called out for another drink The waiter brought a tray And so it was that later As the miller told his tale That her face, at first just ghostly, Turned a whiter shade of pale She said, there is no reason And the truth is plain to see. But I wandered through my playing cards And would not let her be One of sixteen vestal virgins Who were leaving for the coast And although my eyes were open They might have just as wellve been closed She said, Im home on shore leave, Though in truth we were at sea So I took her by the looking glass And forced her to agree Saying, you must be the mermaid Who took neptune for a ride. But she smiled at me so sadly That my anger straightway died If music be the food of love Then laughter is its queen And likewise if behind is in front Then dirt in truth is clean My mouth by then like cardboard Seemed to slip straight through my head So we crash-dived straightway quickly And attacked the ocean bed
