Description:
This is a new small area called Mushroom Castle. It is located on the way to Mushmom at Heneseys. I believe the story is something like this Castle is the home to King Mushroom (the old mushroom NPC) and his servants. It has been invaded by King Pepe and they have been driven out. He is trying to marry his son to Princess Peach.. Uh oh wait wrong game, I mean the Mushroom Princess. What a penguin sees in a Mushroom is beyond me but who am I to judge. Im sure Mushroom Castle is in no way influenced by Mario *cough* There is a catch however. This new area is only for the level 30-38 level range. Which is pretty strict and somewhat disappointing. The upside though is that it's a pretty neat area with lots of quests with good exp rewards, a few good training maps and a small Mini PQ. It helps you on your way to level 40 and past the start of 2nd job which I find a rather boring period. Everything about it is somewhat familiar from the mobs to the music and graphics. The start is like Ellin Forest combined with Heneseys. Some people may think it is a bit cheap but I like the mixing of old graphics with new. I think it makes the new maps blend in more with the area while keeping them a bit more fresh and modern. I wish they would go round and refresh some of the graphics of the older parts of the game. Imagine Henesys if it looked more like Ereve. Talking about refreshed graphics, Adventurers got a little update. There attacking 1st job skills received new animations. They also change colour every 5 levels. Thats level of the character and not the skill. A lot are just brought over from Cygnus but some are brand new like Double Stab. In the 3rd map in from camp there is a special portal at the end. I went through it quickly because I combat stepped into it and the portal automatically sends you through to the next map without you having to press up. It is sealed off to start with. You have to kill the purple Poisonous Mushrooms until they drop some powder. You can use this to travel though once. But be careful you don't accidentally use it since it automatically transports you like i said earlier. Later however once you do the quests you are able to pass through freely. After you make your way past all the poisoned monsters you will find yourself at the base of the Castle wall. You have to use the mushroom spring to catapult yourself up over the wall. There are 3 things that happen when you hit the spring. If you do not jump on it correctly you will be catapulted up but just fall back down to the ground. You can hit it right but jump in the wrong place and you will land in front of a lookout. He will get you thrown out of the castle. When you hit it right you will be catapulted over the wall and you will be clear to proceed with no one to stop you. A few maps in is a Tower. When I enter it you can see it turns out to be a Mini Dungeon. I was somewhat surprised at this as it is sealed off to start with. You have to do a long quest chain before you get access to the key to open it. The layout reminds me of Orbis Tower which isnt a good thing and the spawn doesnt seem so good. The maps outside are far superior, I don't know why you would train here. Maybe it is more suited for sniping with ranged classes. Once you get to the tower at the last part you will meet a dead end. To continue you need to talk to the door NPC, or I believe the correct term is a Portcullis. The first option takes you to the little Mini PQ, which I will show in a separate video. The second option takes you further up into the castle. You need a key to access it which again you get as a quest reward. Inside is a wedding themed area. Where the Princess and Pepe Prince are getting married. Then all that is left is the exit to outside the Castle. You may have noticed earlier that once of the maps split into two paths. I took the lower patch. The higher path is initially a dead end. But completing a quest will unlock the use of the vines. You can climb up them and into the castle. This cuts out a few maps from your trip and means you don't have to use the spring. It's very handy. Well that's it for the Mushroom Castle. I'm not sure if there will be more, it looks complete. It is a small but nice little update. I had a lot of fun training there and doing the quests, it also speeded up my levelling a great deal. The only downside is the strict level restriction. Oh yeah and can you guess what I spied through the telescope?
