Westbound coal train lead by an SD40-2 and Chessie GP40-2. As he is clearing a coal train is coming off the Logan Subdivision onto the Kanawha Sub. with an SD40-2 and GP38. The tower in the background has since been demolished. Date: around July 20, 1992

This coal drag stalled near Cotton Hill, along with another eastbound and had to wait on engines from Hinton to be added to the consist. The one added on this one was a GP40 in the Operation Lifesaver scheme with the Huntington Division noted on it. Date is late February 1992.

This is in April 1987, about 9 months after CSX decided to paint their equipment in CSX. A lone Seaboard SD50 pulls the freight with Chessie, C&O, and B&O cars. Plus with added bonus a Chessie System caboose.

This is an eastbound drag at Cotton Hill, W.Va. led by an SD 40-2, C30-7 and SD40-2. This train eventually stalled on the grade and had to be pushed to get going again. Cotton Hill is one of the stiffest grades on the old C&O till they got east of Hinton on the way to Allegheny Mountain. Engines: SD40-2 #8447 C30-7 #7042 SD40-2 #8127 in Family Lines scheme
