Underwater Digital Photography: Do you consider yourself an amateur photographer? Are you usually the one taking pictures at family gatherings, holidays and sporting events? You've probably thought of taking pictures underwater even, but how? This week we went through a few products which can help you take stunning underwater pictures and video and some accessories to protect your investment. There are several digital cameras that can work underwater from various manufacturers. However we explored only two, the Fuji Finepix Z33 Waterproof camera and the waterproof and shockproof Olympus Stylus Tough 6000. Both cameras come in a variety of stylish colors, have 10 megapixel ccd's and are designed to be water resistant to a depth of 10 feet. While both cameras will work fine underwater, the Fuji has a smaller lightweight design and is available in a variety of trendy colors such as green, pink and blue. It's designed for the person on the go, perhaps taking pictures with friends while splashing about a swimming people. The Olympus on the other hand is built for the sportsman. Although available in several colors, it boasts black, blue and white power colors with an angular shockproof design. It's best for the snorkler, kayaker or surfer who might accidentally introduce the camera to the reef. If you already have a digital camera and aren't in the market for a new waterproof one, a variety of waterproof sleeves are available that may fit your camera. These sleeves are reasonably priced in the $40-$50 range and are available for many styles of cameras as well as camcorders. Some of these waterproof housings can even protect your camera to a depth of 25 feet, excellent for divers who want to capture ocean life beneath the surface. Before heading into the ocean for your photography adventure, be sure you protect your investment with a simple yet effective addition. Do you remember those inflatable floaters you used to slip over your arms as a kid before heading into the swimming pool? Well, they're available for you camera and can keep it from getting lost in the sandy ocean bottom if it slips your grasp. We hope that we have inspired you to take some pictures beneath the waves and bring a little bit of the ocean home.
