Title:
The St. Louis Fire Department
Description:
The St. Louis Fire Department, founded in 1857, is the second oldest paid Fire Department in the Nation. "The City" (as it is affectionately and enviously referred to by the surrounding smaller, local municipalities) is recognized as a progressive leader in providing the highest quality of emergency services. Serving a metropolitan that holds the dubious distinction as "The Most Violent City in America", with a daytime population of close to a million, the firefighters in this city are known for their aggressive offensive fire attack methods and commitment to tradition. This Video is Dedicated to all Past, Present, and Future St. Louis Fire Fighters. No matter what comes our way... from "Walnut Park" and "Wells-Goodfellow", to "The Loft District" and the "Central West End"... From "The Kerry Patch" back to "Dogtown" and "The Hill"... We keep Roll'n. "The Bravest Thing I Ever Did Was Raise My Right Hand and Accept My Badge, Everything Else is In the Line of Duty - Justifiably Proud." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Credits: This video was made possible through the efforts of many people far more creative than me. The majority of the pictures and opening audio were captured by a talented photographer (and son of a City Captain)who can be found under the name of "bmazanec". Sincere thanks to all the "jobs" he has captured. I encourage you to check out his page for more St. Louis Fire Department Videos. His work can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/user/bmazanec The Song playing is "The City", by a fantastic artist named Joe Purdy. While I could not obtain permission for usage of the song, it is my hope that Mr. Purdy would not mind his song being used in a relatively obscure video for firefighters. Joe Purdy's music can be found here: www.joepurdy.com
