BNSF SD70ACE 9146 Leading Coal Empties through Aitkin

Description:
BNSF SD70ACE 9146 leads a coal empty through Aitkin, MN. Behind her is Executive SD70MAC 9471(sporting the BNSF circular nose logo), and at the tail end of the train is another Executive MAC, 9622(sporting the same nose logo), although this one was coughing up darker smoke, and didn't sound too healthy as it passed.

BNSF SD70ACE Flying West with a Train of Coal Empties
Funny story, really, as this morning, while hopping around the Twin Ports area, I caught this one leaving Pokegama Yard with a train of coal empties at about eleven in the morning. Four hours later, here I am back in Deerwood, MN, and this one is flying through. BNSF SD70ACE 9227 is in the lead, with SD70MAC 9539 trailing. Another ACE, 9147, is assisting as the DPU.

Back once again at last. Here, BNSF SD70ACE 9189 leads a coal empty west, and is crossing the Aitkin/Crow Wing County line. Assisting with the pull is BNSF SD70MAC 8951, and another SD70ACE, 9310, does duty at the back of the train as the DPU.
BNSF SD70MACs & SD70ACE with Coal Empties
A rather eventful Sunday, as soon after catching the previously uploaded train, I caught this one at one of my spots. BNSF sd70macs 9740 and 8834, along with SD70ACE 9212, haul an empty train of coal cars west back toward the coal mines. This video is taken about not long into their trip near Deerwood, MN. Note the use of ditch lights, something I haven't seen on these BNSF trains too often.
BNSF SD70ACE 9335 with Coal Empties
Another coal empty heading by the house. BNSF SD70ACE 9335 leads the train west near Deerwood, MN, assisted by a dirty SD70MAC 9825. At the end of the train is ES44AC 5996, doing duty as the DPU of the train.
BNSF SD70ACE 9191 Leading a Coal Empty
BNSF SD70ACE 9191 leads a coal empty across the Aitkin/Crow Wing County line between the cities of Aitkin and Deerwood. Behind her is BNSF Executive SD70MAC 9509, and unlike many Executives I've seen lately, this one doesn't look too beat up. At the DPU assignment is another Executive MAC, this one 9608, and emitting a fair amount of dark smoke. It's worth noting that both Executives looked rather nice, and sported the circular BNSF logo on their noses.
BNSF Coal Empties with Massive Power Blasting into Aitkin
What a welcome back to the Brainerd Sub on this particular weekend! BNSF SD70ACE 9286 leads a long coal empty into the east side of Aitkin. Behind her is SD70MAC 9925, SD70ACE 9134, SD70MAC 8969, and ES44AC 6096. At the end of this mammoth train is a DPU, this time it's SD70MAC 9999.
BNSF GEVOs with a Coal Empty
Found some time to do some fanning after the snow stopped. After a long period of time with nothing but EMD equipment, it was inevitable that the GE stuff would come back at some point, though the sd70s are still dominating. Here, two BNSF es44acs, 5984 and 6068, lead a coal empty west near Deerwood, MN. SD70ACE 9211 pushes at the back as the DPU.
BNSF ES44AC Leading a Coal Empty
I'm a sucker for twilight-esque shots, so this was a given before the snow started falling Monday night. BNSF ES44AC 5882 leads a westbound coal empty, assisted by BNSF SD70ACE 9275. At the rear of the train is another ES44AC, 5791, doing its part as the DPU of the train. Awesome crew, as they sounded the whistled and waved as soon as I was in their sights. It's always great to see crews like this.
