In September 2006, Milwaukee Road northern #261 participated in a series of excursions to help commemorate the 150th anniversary of the first bridge across the Mississippi River. The excursions took place in and around the Quad Cities of Davenport and Bettendorf of Iowa and the cities of Rock Island and Moline in Illinois. The excursions were also the debut of two chinese steam locomotives imported by the Iowa Interstate Railroad. This video is of Milw 261 returning to Minneapolis, MN at the conclusion of the event.
