In the early morning hours on 11-29-08 Lake Station FD was dispatched to a reported house fire in the 2400 block of Clay, Police confirmed a house fire and advised it was Gary FD jurisdiction. After a slight delay Gary FD was dispatched to the scene. On arrival Engine 12's crew determined the best line of attack would be a deckgun. As additional companies got to the scene multiple handlines were stretched. The fire was brought under control in about an hour and nobody was injured at the fire scene. Fire investigators were called to the scene and were working on cause and origin.

Crews were dispatched to the 2300 block of Wheeler for a reported vacant house fire. On arrival heavy fire was reported in the rear of the building. This was the second fire within two hours and both buildings were sites of previous fires. The front was opened and lines were stretched in. The attic area flashed about half way through. Nobody was hurt at either fire.

Fire Blowing From Every Door And Window In A 2.5 Story Frame House, Gary Indiana
At 9:07pm GFD was dispatched to a reported still alarm at 1420 west 19th ave, on arrival Squad 2 reported a working fire. The header stuck out like a sore thumb from 80-94 and Broadway. Four plus lines were pulled from Engines 12, 4, and 13. Crews did an awesome job protecting exposures on both sides and made short work of the fire itself. Crews worked the for about an hour and a half, nobody was injured at the fire scene.

Extreme Garage Fire With Lines Arching And Explosions On Tape
GFD was dispatched to a reported still alarm in an occupied residence, on arrival a fully involved garage with a car inside and power lines down and arching. Nipsco was on scene within 15 minutes and cut the power, after a brief struggle with the garage door he fire was knocked down. Nobody was hurt at the fire scene and crews remained on scene for about 45 minutes.
