 | My Arabian (Dromedary) Camel Cushing A little video I put together to show my ten month old Arabian Camel (or laying down) and rising back up on command. In the video you can see how I taught my camel to lay down and rise by gesture and vocal command with no ropes, pulleys or restraints of any kind (not even a halter and lead). Only gentle tapping and pressure reminders; progresses into consistent compliance with absolutely no contact of any kind. Most footage here was filmed by blackholeconverter on October 3rd, 2007.  | Petting a Bactrian Camel A herd of camels was wandering by our dig site, so I went over to say hello. The camels are domesticated, but wander around the Gobi freely. They still don't seem thrilled about people, but I was able to get close enough to this one to pet it. Mongolians shear their camels for wool, so this one is rather bare looking. |
