Uriah Heep - Why - (extended version) - 1971
The Landsdowne Tapes 1969-1971 (2002) This first version of "Why" is from the Look at Yourself sessions in 1971. It was a studio jam recorded when the sound engineer left the tape rolling while he was fixing a cup of tea! David Byron does all vocals on this version, with Paul Newton on bass and Iain Clarke on drums. This video is linked to the 1972 extended version of "Why", which features David Byron and Ken Hensley on vocals, the incredible Gary Thain on bass and Lee Kerslake on drums. Compare these two awesome versions of a great Uriah Heep classic!
