Road Trip Victor to Canon City part 2

Title:
Road Trip Victor to Canon City part 2

Description:
This is a little trip we made from Victor, CO. to Canon City to see the Royal Gorge. The road is the Phantom Canyon Road. 27 miles estimated travel time is about 2 hours. It took us just over 3 hours but we stopped several times. The road varies from 4500 feet above sea level to 9500 feet. I think its the old Florence & Cripple Creek railroad right of way. The road was rough but the scenery was spectacular.

Rest stop along Phantom Canyon scenic route
One of the scenic roads that we took, called Phantom Canyon Rd. We drove this from Victor CO. to Florence CO. This was he only little rest stop along this dirt road through the canyon. Right after I shot this I took a little walk up behind the bathroom, while up there, I smelled something that smelled a lot like a bear. If you have ever been up close to a bear, you know they have a scent all there own. I did not see or hear anything but I am pretty sure there was a bear close by....
