Bats emerge from Campbell Ave bridge
The Campbell Avenue bridge over the Rillito "Creek" in Tucson serves as a habitat for around 10000 bats (Mexican free-tailed bats, I've heard) in the summer months. Around sunset, they emerge and fly off for the night, and help keep the insect population under control.

7/15/08 -- As many as ten different species of bats roost under bridges in Tucson. On this evening, at approximately 7:44 PM, the bats began flying out from under the bridge. It took about 20 minutes for all of the bats to fly off into the night.

This cute little brown bat somehow got in the house. I tried catching it with a net, it took quite a while because of course they have excellent radar. I was finally successful and got it safely outside.
