Chehalis, WA. August 24, 2002. Northbound Interstate 5 at mile marker 79. A semi being driven at speeds to fast for traffic conditions slammed into a Chevrolet pickup on the overpass. The three female occupants were killed. The semi continued hitting six other vehicles before veering off the freeway and rolling down the embankment coming to rest on it's top. The other injured parties were non life threatening. This story did air on CNN that weekend.

I don't know why the driver of the truck veered of Portland Ave at the intersection of 59th Street East and slammed hard into the house. Structural damage was significant and the family living in the house forced to move. Four were transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries. I don't know if the injured were in the chevy truck or inside the home. |

The driver of the truck attempted to make a right turn from Canyon onto 104th at to fast of speed. Surprisingly only the building was hit and no other vehicles hit. Only the truck driver sustained injuries. Serious ones and fortunately no fatal. This also busts the movie myth that one can drive a semi through a building without injury or serious damage to the rig. |
