The CIR-Whirlwind Wheelchair
Description:
Since 1996, the Center for International Rehabilitation has been dedicated to providing assistive devices to landmine victims. The CIR, in collaboration with Whirlwind Wheelchair International and the Afghan Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled, designed and distributed a centrally fabricated, locally-fitted wheelchair designed for post-conflict countries and tested it in Afghanistan. The contents of this presentation/publication were developed under grants from the Department of Education, National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research grant numbers H133E980031 and H133E030017. However, those contents do not necessarily represent the policy of the Department of Education, and you should not assume endorsement by the Federal Government.
