Title:
Southbound CSX W-027 W/ Locomotive # 4617 Through Auburn, Al

Description:
February 27, 2008 5:15 PM CST Three trains in one day ain't bad around these parts and this one was the cherry on top. This is W-027 stirring up dust and making its way south through Auburn, Al. I almost jumped in the air once the locomotives got close enough for me to clearly see them. The second unit in the consist is CSX 4617. CSX 4617 is the only active unit in C&O colors on CSX. Astoundingly, 4617 is still in service on CSX and retains her C&O paint, although with CSX markings on the ends. I've read that this ole gal has been around the area but I had no idea she was in my back yard until she came racing by me at 45 MPH. Enjoy!

Southbound CSX Q-617 Coming Through Loachapoka, Al
January 27, 2008 3:28 PM CST In your face! Here's a shot I've been wanting for quite some time but never have had the opportunity to get. The last time I set up here the clouds were thick and I still had my old camera so I knew the shot wouldn't come out as good. Boy am I glad I waited! The color came out well and I finally got a "comin at ya" shot. Apologies for the shakeness but it was really windy and any camera motion at 35x zoom shows up huge. This is CSX Q-617 swiftly making its way ...

February 27, 2008 3:46 PM CST Here's what I'm assuming is a track inspection car making its way south through Loachapoka, Al I had no idea this was what it was. I was leaving work and heard this guy clear the signal about two miles down the track. As I was driving to this spot I could faintly see the headlight in the rear view but I just assumed it was your basic work train. It wasn't until he rounded the curve that I realized what it was. Lucky me I guess. Enjoy!
