Description:
2009.06.28. Driving along a road in the Chincoteague Wildlife Reserve, we saw some stopped cars around Black Duck Trail, which usually means a wildlife sighting. Upon walking up, we saw this enormous snapping turtle - easily the largest wild turtle I've ever seen. I'd guess it was about two feet long and it's likely fairly old.
