Spyderco Lava

Title:
Spyderco Lava

Description:
READ HERE FIRST. This vid is available in higher quality, click "Watch in high quality", which is right below the "Views" indicator. I had a hard time buying this one. Lack of money + expensive hobby = :-( Just like my Sharpmaker, once I actually bought & handled it, I never looked back. The Lava is people friendly, yet also a micro self defense knife. A bit of a weird combo, I know. But it works surprisingly well. Ergos are fantastic, little flat ground blade slices very well. On many/most all steel handled knives, the grip is a bit slippery, but the has a massive choil which works very well. How would any sub 2 inch folder be of use as a SD knife? Well, the Lava has two big things going for it. 1. Excellent grip. The handle practically attaches itself your hand. 2. Very well though out opening system. The way the handle and Spydie hole is situated makes the knife "pop" into different grips. Overall, a great knife.

Just testing out the little video review of the Cricket. I spent a lot of time reading about this knife online and it lives up to the hype imo. I didn't see any other videos of it, so why not spread the spyderco awesomeness!
Boker Subcom FB and TOPS Wolf Pup
CLICK MORE Two midget fixed blade knives that I really like. I carry them in a Merc Harness style paracord harness, they make the EDC rotation 'bout 75% of the time, or whenever I feel like it. ;-) The Boker Subcom FB is reaaallly easy to abuse. Its just BEGGING for batoning, prying, and just about anything else. I do need to make a real handle for it, as the skeletonized metal handle is not the most comfortable in the world. The medical tape is working fairly well for now, though. I'm a bit slower to abuse my TOPS Wolf Pup, as I'm a lot more attached to it. If it wasn't for the crappy injection molded sheath that came with the Boker Subcom, I would carry the Boker a lot more often. Really, I would glady pay an extra $5-$10 for a kydex sheath to come with it. I'll probably ship it off to DeathHead after I make some scales for it to get a nice kydex sheath. The sheath for the TOPS is AWESOME. Great retention, but still easy enough to pop out when needed. :-) BTW, the Manix in the vid is a MINI 83mm, even though it looks big. The TOPS has 1095 carbon steel, and the Boker has 440C.

Spyderco Karambit
The Karambit's claw-shaped curved blade originated centuries ago in Indonesia and was used primarily to cut crops, today it is considered a self protection tool. Knives steeped in tradition of their homelands are finding their way to the American knife buying public. They offer an exotic menu of designs, shapes and innovation. Custom Knifemaker Warren Thomas has collaborated with Spyderco to produce a folding Karambit. Fully stainless steel, the arc of the curved blade carries through to the handle ending in an index-finger ring allowing the blade to be swung into a range of gripping positions. The blade is 2 1/8" and double flat-ground out of VG-10 steel with the one-hand-open Spyderco hole. Made of burnished stainless steel, the handle has thumb recess guiding the thumb over the 13mm hole for swift blade deployment. With an affirmative click, the blade locks open by means of a Chris Reeve style integral liner lock. A multi-positional metal clip carries tip-up and both left or right-handed.
