He was running late after having to switch a couple of bad engines out and find replacements for the trip north. Believe the warnings that big thunderstorms can come up quickly in Yellowstone National Park! This storm came up quickly during a chuck wagon dinner trip in the backcountry by Roosevelt Lodge. It was not only the most expensive family dinner we ever had--but also the wettest!
Yellowstone - Day 1
08 JUN 09 - The 1st day of our tour of Yellowstone. We start out at the NE Entrance near Cooke City, MT. Travel through the Lamar Valley which is known as the place to see Bison, Bears, and Wolves. We then make it to make it to "Roosevelt Country" where we saw the 132-foot Tower Fall, stopped at The Calcite Springs Overlook, sat beneath the Overhanging Cliff, saw the 50-million year old Petrified Tree,

Old Faithful time lapse
A time lapse of Old Faithful ... don't blink or you will miss it blow. Every ninety minutes or so, Old Faithful pops and a huge crowd forms thirty minutes before in anticipation of something huge. Its cool, but it is a bit of a Big Ben ..... Parliament moment. If all you see in Yellowstone is Old Faithful you missed out. However, it is one of the most fertile locations to people watch in the park.
