Your first day at the High Times Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam

Verwelkom dames en heren naar Schiphol Luchthaven Amsterdam Ladies and gentlemen welcome to Schiphol airport Amsterdam Get your luggage off the carousel and go through customs. If you don't have euros there are ATM machines and a currency exchange in the luggage area and also in the main area of the airport. A taxi will be € 40 or more to the city center. The train is faster, runs every 10 minutes and only costs € 3.60. A fine of € 35 Euro will be added to the fare if you do not have a valid ticket with you on the train. Get your ticket from the yellow vending machines or you can go to the ticket counter to speak with an agent and buy your ticket. When you arrive at Central Station you can get a Strippenkaart. They are valid on all buses, trams and metro lines in the city.. Strippenkaarts are sold at all rail stations, newspaper shops, post offices and all Albert Hein grocery stores. Or you can walk or take a taxi to your hotel. If you don't have a hotel yet throw your bags in a locker at Central Station until you find one. Please be careful as you navigate the streets of Amsterdam. It's human frogger time. There are cars, trucks, motorcycles, pedestrians, bicycles and trams moving in rythym on the streets at the same time. The latter two are silent. OK, you're in Amsterdam. It's time to get your official Cannabis Cup credentials. The 2009 Cup is November 22nd-26th. Registration starts 19th and 20th at the PowerZone. It's a little out of the main city center s you'll need to take a bus, taxi or metro. From Central Station take the metro to Spaklerweg. At the station exit take the first left onto Spaklerweg Straat. Continue to the right, crossing the parking-lot at the McDonald's. The Powerzone is behind the building supply business. Walk straight down the service road along the fence to your right behind the strip mall to the end, then urn left and the Powerzone will be on your right in 100 yards. Then my friends you frickin did it. You're at the High Times Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam. Sweet. You can start your coffee shop crawl. Make sure you drink water and eat food.
