Here's a great opening to a pretty damn obscure, late 1960s exploitation movie set in the greatest city in the world, New Orleans. It has a lot of great period footage of the city, and of the burlesque scene in the French Quarter. I edited out the titles - if anyone recognizes this, you'll get a prize! Well, maybe not - but I will be duly impressed since I don't think many folks have seen this. Or have seen this and are browsing youtube for historic film clips of New Orleans

New Orleans 1962: Charity Hospital and Tulane Avenue
This old "exploitation" movie from 1963 concludes with a long boring scene in front of Charity Hospital. Particularly interesting, at least to me, was the electric bus running via the overhead electric cables on Tulane Avenue. The soundtrack is pretty decent and evocative of this whole genre of Z flicks.

Summer of 1940
This DVD was made in 2007 from usable portions of a 1940 of 1941 16mm home movie. The scenes primarily at the front of the Virginia home of John and Mary Dubinsky Kopacz. A small segment was filmed at Virginia Beach. The people filmed are as follows: MR. HARRY D. GARBER A funeral director in Plymouth, PA during the 1930'sand 40's. When he appears he can be identified by a mustache with waxed ends, although he was primarily behind the camera. At the time, he was one of very few people to own ...
