 | Tarana OSAAT Naatya-Raaga 2008 Dance Competition Junior Semi-Classical category Team # 2 will showcase "Krishna-Leela", based on the song "Madhubon mein Radhika nache re", originally sung by Mohammad Rafi in the 1960's movie "Kohinoor". Stories of Radha and Krishna, explaining Sri Krishna's exploits in the holy land of Vrindavan, and tales of Krishna's childhood and his interaction with Gop-Gopiyan and his beloved Radha have long been popular with Kathak story-tellers. The song is in Raag Hameer , and Teentaal or 16 beats. The dance choreography is based on Kathak and reflects both of its aspects, Nritta and Nritya in Lucknow Gharana style. |
