In August/September 1999, I and my friend James went on a trip by rail via Amtrak. We went from Kansas City to Los Angeles to San Francisco to Seattle to Chicago to New Orleans to Los Angeles and back to Kansas City. We awoke on the train the next morning in Klamath Falls, Oregon. After departing there we went into the breathtaking scenery of the mountains of Oregon. That afternoon we ended up in Portland. We were a little disappointed to find out the train was running way late. We arrived in Seattle later that evening.

You will see both California Zephyrs pass each other daily on the Glenwood Springs Sub. Range, CO is a siding where many of these meets occur. The footage was shot over two days in May, 1999.
