 | American Flight 77 READ ME ... UPDATE 5/19/07: After finding a separate NTSB report, my fuel load was too heavy. This explains to me why I reached the turn time at HNN about 20-30 miles earlier than actual. Fuel consumption was still withing margins. I will make a second video using actual fuel weight and we'll compare times there as well. Times of importance are takeoff, hijack turn, and time of impact. Best at full screen, this flight was flown using information from the Flight Data Recorder. I flew the route normally and at certain times where there was a change in flight profile, I frap-recorded those events and their times. All times were within one minute of the official event times. The sim used is X-Plane 8.4 Weather was set for that day, clear, variable winds, unknown altimeter setting. Weight: 64 passengers x 170lb (the FAA Standard)= 10,880lbs plus 1,000lbs luggage. Fuel: topped off at 80,000lbs. takeoff weight: 204,162lbs Route of Flight: LDN,J134,HNN,J134,FAL,BUM,J110,RSK,J64,PGS,CIVETS5. AA77 only actually made it as far as just past the HNN VOR.
