William Phallan, 31, was rescued by a Coast Guard Station Georgetown, S.C., boat crew 11 miles east of Winyah Bay, S.C. He was then hoisted by a Coast Guard Air Facility Charleston helicopter and taken to Georgetown Memorial Hospital. "It was great that William stayed with the vessel.
